NOAH 4/23 Budokan results

The Cinderella Story of Masao Inoue came to end last night at the famed Nippon Budokan as he failed in his quest to capture the GHC heavyweight title from Jun Akiyama. Inoue's friends and family were in attendance and there was a lot of support for the underdog and Akiyama received a lot of heat from the crowd.
KENTA made a successfull 5th defense of the GHC Jr. title against Taiji Ishimori, establishing himself as the strongest Jr. heavyweight champion breaking Yoshinobu Kanemaru's defense record. KENTA's next potential challenger could be Takashi Sugiura, who KENTA hopes to avenge his loss from last year when Sugiura pinned him to win the GHC Jr. tag titles from him and Marufuji.
In what was billed as the match of the night by Japanese fans, Naomichi Marufuji lasted over 20-minutes with Kenta Kobashi before falling to NOAH's iron man. Kobashi acknowledged Marufuji's abilities and that of the rising next generation in NOAH, but he says he won't go down so easilly to any of them.
